Jason Heyward officially retired after a 16-year career in Major League Baseball. He played for five teams, starting with the Atlanta Braves in 2010 and ending with the San Diego Padres. Heyward won a World Series with the Chicago Cubs in 2016 and signed the largest contract in franchise history. He was known for his defensive skills, earning five Gold Glove awards, and was a positive influence in every clubhouse. Heyward also opened a youth baseball academy in Chicago, which he will focus on post-retirement.
