The Giants have re-signed pitchers Ethan Small and Kai-Wei Teng to minor league contracts after dropping them from the 40-man roster at the non-tender deadline.
Ethan Small, 27, managed only 13 minor league innings last season and did not pitch in the majors for San Francisco following a season on the injured list.
Kai-Wei Teng struggled in his recent tenure, allowing 12 runs over 11 MLB innings and having a difficult Triple-A season with nearly a run per inning.
Despite past promise showing strikeout potential and solid ground-ball rates, both Small and Teng face challenges maintaining effective command and proving their value in the minors.
