In the top of the fifth inning, Smoltz innocuously asked Davis if he knew why Oracle Park is considered the coldest ballpark in all of baseball. When Davis didn't know, Smoltz replied: 'Because it's filled with Giant fans.'
A quick search revealed references to Smoltz making the same exact dad joke on X from 2012 and on Reddit from 2013, with both posts indicating Smoltz did so when he was on MLB Network's nightly highlight show MLB Tonight.
