Former MLB pitcher Reyes Moronta, who dominated the San Francisco Giants bullpen for two seasons, passed away at 31 in a traffic accident in the Dominican Republic.
Moronta emerged as one of San Francisco's top relievers in 2018 and 2019, posting a 2.66 ERA in 125 combined relief appearances and striking out 149 batters over 121.2 innings.
After missing the entire 2020 season due to a shoulder injury, Moronta returned to the Giants and had a 3.05 ERA in 177 career games with multiple MLB teams.
