The addition of 90 new recycling sites in the Bay Area addresses community demands for better access to redeeming beverage containers, funded by $70 million in grants.
Grants from the state will help establish around 250 new recycling sites across 30 counties in California, enhancing community recycling efforts significantly.
Zoe Heller noted, ‘We’ve heard from residents that there was a real need for more opportunities to redeem beverage containers for cash, which these new sites will provide.’
New recycling methods will include mobile collection trucks, bag drop options, and reverse vending machines, increasing convenience for residents to recycle more efficiently.
