We can be honest here: The 49ers' preseason has been a slog. All the off-the-field drama with Brandon Aiyuk and Trent Williams? It's leaked onto the field... But as of Monday, here's who I expect to make the team's 53-man roster.
The NFL has a new rule allowing players to be designated for return from the injured reserve on cut-down day. I'd expect the Niners to make that distinction with Guerendo, who will need time to catch up to the NFL game after missing so much of camp with a hamstring injury... Any of the three are good veteran practice squad candidates. Not one has beat out Schrader.
