CHP: Oakland freeway race leads to death of driver
Briefly

The 49-year-old Oakland resident died after his silver Mazda collided with a black Dodge Charger and a white Honda on Interstate 580 while apparently street racing.
Officer Adib Zeid stated, "The series of collisions unfolded when the Mazda collided with another vehicle, leading to a tragic outcome for the driver."
Witnesses are urged to come forward, as the California Highway Patrol is actively seeking information about the racing vehicle that fled the scene.
The collision forced the closure of three westbound lanes of the freeway for about two hours while authorities conducted their investigation.
