BART train hits, kills person in Berkeley
Briefly

The fatal collision happened around 5:45 p.m. at the Downtown Berkeley BART station, according to BART spokesperson Jim Allison. 'There was an individual on the platform while a train approached and apparently there was a collision,' Allison said.
BART police do not suspect foul play, according to Allison, which indicates that the incident may have been accidental in nature rather than caused by any intentional actions.
The collision disrupted service between the North Berkeley and McArthur stations, further complicating travel for commuters and passengers relying on BART services during peak hours.
