The team is currently operating without three tailbacks, including Christian McCaffrey. The reigning NFL Offensive Player of the Year is dealing with a calf strain that will keep him out for around two weeks.
The 49ers also practiced Tuesday without rookie tailback Isaac Guerendo (hamstring) and backup Elijah Mitchell, who has a hamstring strain and will miss about a week.
