An NFL local pro day allows prospects with ties to the local area to display their skills in front of team officials. The 49ers aim to evaluate these prospects, potentially drafting or signing them later.
The event gives the 49ers a chance to interact with local talents who may have been overlooked, without counting towards the pre-draft visit limit. Last year, none of the 36 local participants were drafted by San Francisco.
