The Bay Area is expected to ring in the new year with some rain, but forecasts are not expected to cause major cancellations of New Year's Eve festivities. Fireworks will be launched at the Ferry Building on the Embarcadero at midnight, free for families and with organizers prepared for rain. The San Francisco Spirit will host a fireworks cruise with two decks, music, an open bar and champagne on boarding. Other events include a Black & White masquerade, a North Beach bar crawl with deals, the Phoenix Hotel's closing party with DJs, an ABBA glitter disco with limited door tickets, and New Bohemia's multi-level party with performers and multiple dance floors.
