Cordell Gignilliat, 26, has been arrested and charged with three counts of animal cruelty after allegedly abusing two dogs, including one named Ziggy who now faces extensive medical issues.
The police investigation revealed not only physical abuse but also psychological terror inflicted on the dogs, as Gignilliat was accused of striking, kicking, screaming, and threatening them over multiple incidents.
Ziggy's medical treatment, estimated to cost around $6,000, presents a significant financial burden on Webster Animal Control, which stated that the costs could 'cripple' its budget.
Despite the town's inability to set up a GoFundMe, a local resident initiated one that has successfully raised over double the $6,000 goal to cover Ziggy's treatment.
