These 2 Bay Area DMVs open early for extra Real ID appointments

To assist Californians worried about the upcoming Real ID travel deadline, the DMV is opening select locations earlier for appointments, beginning April 14 and lasting until June 27. Eighteen sites across California will provide an extra hour for Real ID appointments on select weekdays. With only two Bay Area locations available early, residents are encouraged to plan their trips accordingly due to potential travel times. The deadline for Real ID enforcement is May 7, affecting domestic air travel and access to federal buildings, making timely appointments critical.
These additional appointments will make it easier than ever to obtain a REAL ID," DMV Director Steve Gordon said in a statement.
The DMV is seeing an increase in customers upgrading to a REAL ID across the Bay Area region," Snow mentioned.
