Briefly

The Huntington Hotel's restaurant in SF is finally back. Here's what we know.
"They've put a lot of effort into making it have exactly the same vibe, and that's what a lot of people that I've talked to in the neighborhood said that they were very concerned about. But they didn't change very much stuff. And I think [the neighborhood is] going to be very pleased with what they did."
"The interior looks eerily similar to its heyday - dazzling green leather booths, crisp white tablecloths, ornate wood finishing throughout and black-and-white historical photos of the famed hotel hanging on the walls. The menu, too, brings back a few of the notable entrees that fed folks like Gavin Newsom and Fritz Maytag."
The Big Four, a historic San Francisco restaurant located at the Huntington Hotel on Nob Hill, is reopening after a six-year closure. Currently serving hotel guests, the restaurant will open to the public on March 17. The restoration maintains the restaurant's original 1976 aesthetic, featuring green leather booths, white tablecloths, ornate wood finishes, and black-and-white historical photographs. Live piano performances return Thursday through Saturday. The menu reintroduces signature dishes including pot pies with chicken or mushroom velouté, items that previously served notable figures like Gavin Newsom and Fritz Maytag. Staff emphasize the careful preservation of the restaurant's historic character and ambiance.
