"They're beating this drum about ethics constantly. They're trying to paint us as unethical, when to be honest, I think it's projection," Jain stated, indicating his resistance to the independent ethics pledge.

"I signed off on the city's own fair campaign practices. I'm not planning on signing the independent pledge because of its biases," Jain articulated regarding his stance.
