San Francisco’s GLBT Historical Society will find a new and permanent home in the Castro District, celebrating the rich LGBTQ+ history of the city.
The new space will be over eight times larger than the previous location, enabling the museum to showcase a more extensive collection of history and culture.
As Mayor Breed emphasized, the new location ensures that the stories of the LGBTQ+ community are preserved and not lost to time or neglect.
Executive Director Roberto Ordeñana highlighted the importance of the museum staying in the Castro to elevate the narratives of marginalized groups within the community.
