San Francisco International Film Festival celebrates city's spirit
Briefly

The 68th San Francisco International Film Festival prominently featured the city's unique culture and local pride, including tributes to local filmmaker Chris Columbus and a closing screening of 'Outerlands', filmed predominantly in local districts. Columbus showcased his films shot in San Francisco and expressed his love for the city in a recent Q&A. After pandemic-related difficulties, this year’s festival expanded to 11 days, reflecting a resurgence in local film culture that also allowed for increased programming and participation.
"I think San Francisco has gotten a bad rap over the last couple of years... There are so many things that have changed, but in a good way, since the '90s."
"As a curator, it was really fun to play again... to be able to have the room to add a lot of films to the international and local lineup."
