The Moon Viewing Garden is a Japanese-design area located in the Mild-Temperate Climate section in the garden's northwest. The garden is always free for San Francisco city and county residents and offers free access to visitors on the second Tuesday of every month, Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, New Year's Day, and daily from 7:30–9:00 am. Regular adult admission is $20.75 on weekends and $14.75 on weekdays, with discounts for children and seniors. The garden opens daily at 7:30 am and closes one hour after last entry, with seasonal last-entry times. The Garden Bookstore and Plant Shop are open daily 10:00–4:00, and the Helen Crocker Russell Library of Horticulture is open Friday through Sunday 10:00–4:00.
