PG&E outage leaves over 6,000 SF residents in Sunset without power
"Over 6,000 residents in San Francisco's Sunset and Richmond neighborhoods have lost their power as of late Saturday morning, according to PG&E. The outage comes just one week after the area and the entire city faced a widespread blackout that left some residents without power for nearly 72 hours. As of noon on Saturday, PG&E is attributing this unplanned outage to the storm that swept through the city and the entire Bay Area over the holiday week."
"PG&E spokesperson Andria Borba said in a video shared on social media last weekend that the company had opened its emergency operations center in Vacaville to support current outages and plan for future ones ahead of upcoming winter storms. "Using AI and machine learning, we are pre-positioning crews to be in the correct locations to help restore power swiftly and safely in case of any outages that may occur from these storms," she said."
