One killed in daytime stabbing at South of Market residence

"Officers arrived at a residence on Howard Street between Fifth and Sixth streets, a block of several new market-rate residential buildings, at around 2:10 p.m. Friday, where they found a victim with multiple stab wounds, according to a department press release. Police and paramedics tried to provide lifesaving measures, but the victim died at the scene."

"If ruled a homicide, the killing would be San Francisco's 10th this year, according to SFPD data. There were three homicides at this time last year."

San Francisco police responded to a daytime stabbing on Howard Street in the South of Market neighborhood Friday at approximately 2:10 p.m. Officers discovered a victim with multiple stab wounds at a residence. Despite lifesaving efforts by police and paramedics, the victim died at the scene. The Homicide Detail is investigating the incident. If ruled a homicide, this would be San Francisco's 10th killing this year, compared to three homicides at the same time last year. The public is encouraged to contact SFPD with any information.
