My favorite way to bike in Golden Gate Park
Briefly

Golden Gate Park serves as a vibrant outdoor space for biking enthusiasts in San Francisco. With routes like JFK Way and Overlook Way providing a 7-mile round trip, riders can enjoy a perfect mix of challenge and relaxation. JFK Promenade, a car-free area since 2020, is particularly notable for its art installations, gardens, and the historic Conservatory of Flowers. The park is not only a majestic green space but also a cultural landmark, embodying the spirit of the city and its commitment to outdoor recreation.
Golden Gate Park is basically San Francisco's backyard - except this backyard has windmills, roller discos, and no annoying neighbors.
I’ve road-tested plenty of routes, but two always deliver. JFK Way and the Overlook Way both stretch across the park at seven miles round trip.
Once you cross Kezar Drive, take a deep breath and let the city noise fade away - you’re officially on the JFK Promenade, a glorious 1.5-mile car-free stretch.
Cruising along the promenade, you will pass gardens, meadows, a waterfall, and other noteworthy sites, including the Conservatory of Flowers, dating to 1878.
