Longtime ABC7 News reporter Leslie Brinkley retires after decades of reporting in Bay Area
"SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- Tuesday was a very bittersweet day for the family of ABC7 News, as one of our longtime friends and colleagues, Leslie Brinkley, called it a career. Leslie joined ABC7 in 1989, just in time to cover the infamous Loma Prieta earthquake. She reported live from the Bay Bridge and on the collapse of the Cypress freeway structure. Her work contributed to KGO's Peabody award-winning coverage."
"Two years later, she was again reporting from the front lines, this time on the devastating Oakland Hills fire. Leslie's career has spanned more than three decades. She has covered every kind of natural disaster - earthquakes, fires, floods, hurricanes, landslides, and tornadoes - and she's interviewed several U.S. presidents, beginning with Jimmy Carter. Most recently, Leslie was honored with a local Emmy for her work on the Golden State Killer case in 2018."
