'Last Black Man in San Francisco' director unveils next project
Briefly

Filmmaker Joe Talbot, known for 'Last Black Man in San Francisco,' is launching a filmmaking boot camp titled '48 Hills, 24 Frames' for local teenagers. Running from June 16 to July 3, the program aims to teach ages 15-19 about the art of filmmaking, emphasizing local stories and characters. Participants will learn from Bay Area professionals and screen their final projects at the Roxie Theater. The camp emphasizes San Francisco's ever-evolving cinematic history through classic films and encourages kids to pitch narrative ideas based on characters from their neighborhoods.
"Part of what's fun about our illustrious city on film is that it kind of changes decade to decade," Talbot told SFGATE.
"We're so lucky to have so many great, rich, colorful characters in the city. We all have people in our neighborhood that we love..." Talbot said.
