A 68-year-old man was arrested for allegedly killing a 58-year-old resident in San Francisco. The victim was shot and killed around 5:30 a.m. on May 17 while leaving for work. The suspect was booked for murder after being transported to San Francisco County jail. The victim had lived at a home owned by the suspect’s family since 2023. Friends described disputes with the landlord, alleging the landlord wanted to sell the house without paying for the victim to relocate. Police said security footage showed the suspect arriving by bicycle with a long gun and a masked face. The victim had a prior prison term after a 2004 drunk driving killing, but friends described him as quiet and supportive, including helping set up an amateur boxing ring. A GoFundMe for his son and grandchildren raised about $6,600.
