Charity Kreher and her family moved from Tulsa, Oklahoma, to San Juan, Puerto Rico, embracing a new culture and lifestyle. They downsized significantly from a large home to an apartment by the ocean but found it liberating. The family has become more active outdoors, enjoying beaches and trails, which was less feasible in Oklahoma. The move reinforced the importance of stepping out of comfort zones, an experience they wanted to model for their children. Relocation was prompted by a job opportunity and a desire for a richer engagement with nature.
Relocating from Tulsa, Oklahoma to San Juan, Puerto Rico has encouraged our family to explore outdoor activities, fostering a more active lifestyle together as we embrace this new culture.
Before moving to Puerto Rico, I had never visited, which made the transition both exciting and daunting as we left everything familiar behind.
We downsized from a 3,500-square-foot house to a 1,500-square-foot apartment, realizing we can thrive with less space while enjoying the outdoors more fully.
Living in Oklahoma was affordable, but the lack of outdoor activities ultimately motivated us to seek a new life in Puerto Rico, which offers diverse experiences.
