The pop-up airport, officially named Black Rock City Municipal Airport, 88NV, features two 6,000-foot runways and is managed almost entirely by volunteers, reflecting the festival's collaborative spirit.
During peak days, the airport handles around 500 takeoffs and landings, serving a mix of charter flights, personal aircraft, and free scenic flights for participants.
