Girl (2) is hospitalised after pepper spray used by suspect during burglary in Rathmines, Dublin

A woman was found at the property in a distressed state and informed gardaí that she had been pepper-sprayed by a man known to her.
Pepper spray was used during this incident in front of the young child and (she was) hit by it, but thankfully neither her nor the woman suffered serious injuries.
Gardaí are investigating an aggravated burglary at a residence in Rathmines, Dublin 6W, that occurred this morning, Monday, August 19.
Gardaí carried out a search in the Ballyfermot area later that morning and arrested a male, aged in his 30s, as part of the investigation.
