Lee Neighborhood Theaters' Marina and Presidio Theatres in San Francisco are up for sale as co-owner Frank Lee, Jr. announces retirement after nearly six decades in the business. The Lee family’s legacy began with Frank Lee, Sr. opening the Bella Union theater in 1964. Over the years, they expanded to include several well-known theaters before putting the Marina and Presidio up for sale. As they retire, their impact on local cinema and the generations of moviegoers they entertained is being acknowledged by community members.
"Frank and Lida have entertained multiple generations of San Franciscans at the movies, and they have left a legacy of happy customers," said Adam Bergeron.
"I'm not getting younger, right?" Frank Lee stated, reflecting on his decision to retire after nearly 60 years in the industry.
