BART and Uber launched an app integration that lets riders plan and pay for combined Uber and BART trips within the BART app. The integration covers all 50 BART stations and allows booking short Uber trips ranging between two and seven miles to and from stations. Riders coming to ten specified stations receive a $5 discount usable up to six times over seven calendar days. BART set aside $50,000 to subsidize those discounts. A local nonprofit said the partnership can help older adults reach appointments and social gatherings. Some riders raised concerns about BART reliability after recent outages; the CEO said on-time performance is high and the agency is addressing disruptions.
