Fabio La Bianca, who owns the BAIA Santa Nicolicchia restaurant, reported, "After half an hour with the other guys we realized that it was no longer there; immediate search efforts were launched when we confirmed the boat was missing."
The coast guard confirmed that a total of 15 survivors were rescued, but six individuals remain unaccounted for. One body has been recovered, adding urgency to the search efforts.
A spokesperson from the Palermo Port Authorities stated, "The vessel is located at a depth of around 164 feet. Firefighter divers are diligently searching the hull as we seek to recover missing persons."
