"We are both huge fans of organic architecture," Petrol said in an episode of HDTV's "Homes Across America," explaining what drew her and Webb to the property. Organic architecture or design refers to a style made most famous by Frank Lloyd Wright and is one that seeks to integrate seamlessly into the surrounding environment, making use of surrounding materials to work in harmony with (and celebrate) the natural setting."
In 55290 Forest Haven Drive, Petrol knew she and Webb had discovered a striking - though unfinished - example of this style. "We snuck in and fell in love with the design [and] architecture of the house," she said.
Knowing the home had great potential, the couple decided to do everything they could to realize that potential, even at their own financial risk. Webb told SFGATE that he and Petrol purchased the property in 1995, taking a gamble on the home's viability.
The property’s owners are ready to sell their unique 30-acre retreat, asking $1.949 million, having transformed the abandoned house into a semi-famous residence known for its incredible organic design.
