"It took over a year from the time that I called for an audit of SF Safe in 2023, when the allegations of misconduct initially surfaced, to the point where we identified real issues that needed to be addressed." This highlights the inefficiencies in the current auditing process.
"New corruption scandals about officials in and contractors doing business with San Francisco city government have been breaking at a regular clip for years now," Peskin noted, shedding light on the continual issues plaguing the city's governance.
