Texas Pauses State Digital Equity Capacity Grant Program
Briefly

The Texas Broadband Development Office (BDO) has paused grants and contracts for the State Digital Equity Capacity Grant Program amid uncertainties regarding the program's future, attributed to a realignment to align with the new administration's priorities. This decision aims to prevent applicants from unnecessarily committing resources until clarity is achieved from the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA). The BDO reassured that the Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment (BEAD) Program remains unaffected, and updates will follow as they engage with the NTIA, which is currently awaiting new leadership.
"Given this uncertainty, the BDO wants potential applicants to avoid investing significant time and resources into preparing applications until the office receives more clarity on the future of the program from the NTIA."
"We understand the importance of these opportunities and the resources needed to pursue them. For that reason, we want to ensure all efforts adhere to and are consistent with program guidelines before funds are made available."
