SF leaders commemorate Holocaust Remembrance Day, honoring 6 million Jews killed in World War II
Briefly

On International Holocaust Remembrance Day, events commemorate the 80th anniversary of the Auschwitz-Birkenau liberation. In San Francisco, a ceremony at the Legion of Honor honored the six million Jews killed during WWII. Speakers included Senior Rabbi Jessica Graf, whose great-grandmother was a victim, who emphasized the ongoing presence of antisemitism. German Consul General Oliver Schramm echoed the need for tolerance and unity in the face of hatred. Similar events were held in other Bay Area cities, highlighting a collective commitment to remembrance and combating prejudice.
It's a very scary time and it's especially important for us to remember, never to forget the horrors of antisemitism and bigotry and hatred and what that can create.
We need to really stay together and we need to be tolerant vis-à-vis of other cultures, that's the only way forward and that should be the message of today.
