Stanley Ellicott served as Assistant Director of Finance and Technology in San Francisco's Workers' Compensation department and abused that role to commit fraud. He was charged in January 2024 for invoicing the city $14,000 for earthquake supplies while actually buying high-end tech and reselling much of it on eBay. Ellicott created a sham Illinois business called IAG Services and billed the city's HR workers' compensation fund $627,118.86 for purported auditing services between May 2019 and January 2024. He pleaded guilty and has been sentenced to three years in state prison for embezzlement and violating the public trust.
