According to a new urban mobility readiness index, San Francisco stands out as the most prepared city for transportation technologies, including AI and autonomous vehicles.
The index, created by the Oliver Wyman Forum and UC Berkeley, evaluated 70 cities based on walkability, air quality, public transit access, and more.
By introducing a technology adoption sub index, this year's rankings showed San Francisco excelling in readiness for new technologies like autonomous vehicles and air taxis.
San Francisco is at the forefront of tech readiness, hosting many autonomous vehicle companies, including Waymo, which operates a commercial robotaxi service.
