Banning cars from a specific roadway doesn't mean traffic magically goes away. It will divert that traffic onto more residential streets, increasing pollution and the chance for a pedestrian or bicycle-involved accident.
Closing it to cars is anti-mobility, anti-family, and just plain dumb.
