Sarah Dennis Phillips, Executive Director of OEWD, appointed Iowayna Peña as the new San Francisco Workforce Development Director, officially starting on January 6, 2025. With a strong background in the LGBTQ community and experience working with underserved populations, Peña aims to enhance job training and connections for unemployed and underemployed residents. She is committed to addressing challenges in the local economy while promoting equity and inclusion, emphasizing collaboration with various stakeholders to build a resilient workforce ready for an evolving job market.
