I would hope that if footballers or athletes were going to place a bet, that that would be frowned upon... Those who seek election to public office...should not be placing bets on the outcome of elections, particularly at a time when they are yet to declare their candidacy.
I am fully prepared to declare myself as a constituency candidate in Edinburgh Western, and as a result, I will cancel my existing bets.
