A group of parents in Palo Alto is working to recall school board member Shounak Dharap following contentious meetings regarding curriculum changes, particularly in honors biology and ethnic studies classes. Dharap, who has served on the board for six years, labeled the recall as a waste of taxpayer money and indicated that fellow board members oppose the move. The recall is spearheaded by Avery Wang, who previously sued the district over academic issues. To proceed, supporters have 160 days to collect 7,635 signatures as mandated by the Santa Clara County Registrar of Voters.
