North Adams man convicted, sentenced for murdering his wife in 2022

"A jury found Luis Rosado, 53, guilty of first-degree murder. He was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole, court documents show. Rosado was convicted of murdering his wife, Jillian Tatro, 38, in her apartment, according to a statement from the Berkshire District Attorney's Office."

"On May 28, 2022, Rosado and Tatro, who were married on Jan. 3, 2022, went to her North Adams apartment. That night, Tatro's son arrived at his mother's apartment and witnessed Rosado leaving the building. Rosado told the son that Tatro had left with a friend, the DA said."

"Law enforcement entered the apartment and observed Ms. Tatro lying on her back near the entryway. It was evident that she had suffered from some type of stab wound, the DA's office wrote. Medical examination determined that Tatro was stabbed 10 times, slashed 6 times, and suffered blunt trauma to her head, according to the DA."

"Through cell phone data collection and witness interviews, police identified Rosado as a suspect, the DA's office said. Today, my thoughts are with Ms. Tatro's children and family. Ms. Tatro's son demonstrated tremendous poise and courage during his testimony in the trial, District Attorney Timothy Shugrue said. Her death is a tragic example of the lethal consequence of domestic violence and the lasting impact these crimes have on families and communities."
