Man accused of setting multiple fires in Sonoma County
Sonoma County Sheriff's deputies arrested 29-year-old Luke Deramo in Cloverdale after searching for him in the Geysers Road area. Deputies contacted a woman in a parked car and asked her to contact law enforcement if she saw Deramo. About 30 minutes later, the woman called 911 reporting Deramo emerged from nearby brush, entered the bed of her truck, refused to leave, vandalized her vehicle with a rock, and fled back into the brush near the river. A vegetation fire was reported shortly afterward, and fire personnel responded while law enforcement continued searching. Deramo was taken into custody about a mile from the fire. Investigators believe he may be connected to several recent fires, including at least three on Geysers Road near the Mendocino County line. He was booked into the Sonoma County Jail with bail set at $1,121,000 and remains in custody.
