Faizaan Awan, 16, was fatally shot on March 6, 2025, while driving a red Acura near Highway 8 and Fruitland Road in Stoney Creek. Police discovered the Acura had collided with a white Kia sedan just east of the intersection. Awan sustained multiple gunshot wounds and died in hospital. Investigators determined he was chased for several kilometres before being shot. Multiple vehicles participated in the chase, including a stolen silver Infiniti involved in the collision. Two passengers were in Awan's vehicle; one sustained a minor gunshot wound. Police believe individuals with knowledge of the incident and motive have not come forward. Authorities continue seeking information from the public.
