Rebecca Haro, 41, pleaded guilty to felony child abuse and involuntary manslaughter tied to the death of her 7-month-old son, Emmanuel, whose remains have not been found. She admitted involvement in helping her husband torture the boy and in creating a kidnapping narrative to conceal the crime. The case began in August when Haro claimed a Spanish-speaking man attacked her in a San Bernardino parking lot while she changed Emmanuel’s diaper. Authorities found inconsistencies, arrested both parents for murder, and Emmanuel’s body was never recovered. Jake Haro, 32, pleaded guilty to murder in October and received 25 years to life, and he reportedly told an undercover inmate he killed Emmanuel and dumped his body in a trash can. Jake was also on probation for a 2023 child abuse case that left his 10-week-old daughter maimed and bedridden for life.
