On Saturday night, the Gilroy High School wrestling team celebrated their remarkable achievement of winning their 22nd consecutive Central Coast Section (CCS) championship. In a historic showdown at Independence High School, they scored an astounding 363 points, surpassing their nearest competitors, Los Gatos. Dominating the competition, Gilroy won in multiple ways including decisions, technical falls, and pins. Coach Daniel Cormier praised the team's performance, emphasizing the importance of competing well at crucial moments as they prepare for the upcoming state meet in Bakersfield, where they aim to continue their dominance against top teams from across California.
