Recognized by peers and community members for his impact, Taylor was remembered for his strong relationships with students and as a positive influence in their lives. He had deep roots in the community, contributing as a paraeducator and athletic coach for several years, making his loss felt widely across the community.
"He cared very deeply about our community and loved building relationships with our student athletes," coach Chris Saunders said. "He is deeply missed already."
"It's a terrible thing for our larger community, because he was such a big presence in all of our kids' lives," Purva Singla shared, expressing the community's grief.
"Coach Taylor grew up in the community, worked as a paraeducator in local middle schools, and has been an athletic coach for youth in the community for several years," Principal Karl Losekoot mentioned.
Superintendent Erik Burmeister emphasized, "The loss of such a dedicated and beloved figure will leave a significant void in our schools and neighborhood."
