The Red-Headed Stepchildren Car Club (RHSCC), founded by Troy Schennek and Roger Havens in 2006, is distinct in that all its 12 members own different car makes and models. With no dues or meetings, the focus is on enjoying cars rather than adhering to typical car club structures. Members showcase their vehicles during car shows, particularly in spring and summer. Troy Schennek, a long-time car enthusiast, emphasizes the individuality of classic cars compared to modern vehicles. His father, who shares this passion, joined the club as well, highlighting a familial bond through a love for automobiles.
We named the club RHSC because we were a different kind of club, an un-club if you will - no yearly dues and no meetings.
My passion for cars started at a young age - my dad used to take us to the Grand National Roadster Show in Oakland... and to the Fremont Dragstrip for many Wednesday night drags.
What I love about old cars is that they have personality - they don't all look the same.
I have a 1923 Ford 'Bucket T' and a 1967 Dodge Dart GT that I take to shows.
