Amber Alert issued for missing girl, 5, after mother found slain. Father sought by police

Los Angeles police are searching for 5-year-old Daleyza Fregoso, allegedly abducted by her father, Ruben Fregoso, after her mother was found dead inside a home in West Adams. Officers found the woman’s body in the 2600 block of South Alsace Avenue and reported a preliminary investigation indicating she died from violence, without further details. Police identified Ruben Fregoso, 40, as a person of interest and said he fled with Daleyza. Investigators reported statements suggesting he intended to leave the country. The pair were last seen Sunday around 4 a.m. near Ferndale Street and Alsace Avenue. Authorities initially reported a white 2019 Land Rover Discovery, later locating it in San Ysidro near the Mexico border. A security guard found the SUV shortly before 9:15 p.m. Monday. Daleyza is described as 3 feet tall and 45 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. Ruben Fregoso is described as about 5 feet 9 inches tall and 200 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.
