Anne-Mari Eriksen, the estranged mother of suspected FSU shooter Phoenix Ikner, expressed deep concerns for her son, who she hasn't seen in years. A decade ago, Eriksen abducted Ikner to Europe amid a bitter custody conflict with his father, Christopher Ikner, violating custody agreements. She later returned to the U.S. but faced legal consequences for her actions. Ikner is now accused of a shooting on the Florida State University campus, raising serious questions about his upbringing and the impact of parental conflict on his life.
Eriksen, who had custody of the boy, violated the agreement she had in place with the older Ikner by not getting consent for the overseas trip.
I have been concerned for him in the past, but I would never have thought that,' Anne-Mari Eriksen told WPLG on Friday.
The messy legal struggle culminated when Eriksen kidnapped Phoenix Ikner, who was born Christian Gunnar Eriksen, and flew him to Europe in March 2015.
Christopher Ikner was not clued in on the Scandinavian excursion until his son accidentally spilled the beans during a phone call.
