A house fire killed two of their three daughters. Prosecutors say they are to blame
""There was so much heat coming out of the building. One of our fire captains tried to get in through a window and he has a melted helmet as a result.""
""She could kill somebody one day if she wasn't more careful," Keenan warned Hales about her use of the stove, which had previously caused a fire."
A manufactured home in Murrieta caught fire, leading to the deaths of two young sisters due to smoke inhalation. The fire started in the carport after Stacey Hales left a propane tank on overnight while making tortilla chips. Hales and her partner, Adam Keenan, managed to escape with one daughter, but the other two daughters and family dogs perished. Hales and Keenan now face felony charges related to the incident, including arson and child cruelty.
